DUI checkpoint slatedon South Avenue
BOARDMAN -- A DUI checkpoint will be from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday on South Avenue, a quarter mile north of U.S. Route 224.
The Mahoning County Sheriff's Department will have 18 deputies assigned to the checkpoint.
Guest speaker
AUSTINTOWN -- Carmen Rozzi, project manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, will be the guest speaker when the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments meets at 10 a.m. Monday at the Eastgate offices, 5121 Mahoning Ave.
Rozzi will present an overview of the Mahoning River ecological restoration project. Agency officers for 2002 will be elected.
