BROOKFIELD -- Township police say a Sharon, Pa., man is suspected of damaging windows on 12 cars and trucks with a pellet gun.
Chief Dan Faustino said today the windows were found damaged Sunday and Monday in the Judson Street and Grove Avenue area. Some vehicles were parked on the street, others in driveways.
Faustino said the suspect was stopped by Sharon police as he walked along Curtis Street there. Pellets were found in his pocket. He told police there that he sold the gun.
Windows also were shot out of eight cars along Erie and Grant streets in Sharon.
A pellet gun was used between midnight and 4 a.m. Monday, Sharon police said.
Day-care applications
GIRARD -- St. Rose Sunny Days Day Care Center will take applications for admittance from Thursday through Feb. 1 for preschool age, school age (before- and after-school programs) and nursery school children for the coming summer and fall sessions.

Man dies in crash
MIDDLE CORNERS -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-car crash in Greene Township just north of Mosquito Lake that claimed the life of a 61-year-old Warren man.
The patrol said James E. Dougher, no street address available, was southbound on state Route 46, about a quarter mile from state Route 87, around 1 a.m. today when he went off the road and overturned.
Dougher, who was not wearing his seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, the patrol said.
Home from hospital
JOHNSTON -- A 4-year-old Ravenna child seriously hurt in a Saturday accident in the township is recovering.
Officials at St. Elizabeth Health Center said the child, who was listed in critical condition Saturday afternoon, went home Monday.
Five others, including the child's parents and two siblings, suffered less serious injuries in the two-vehicle crash on state Route 5 near state Route 88 around 1:40 p.m. Saturday.
The family's vehicle was struck by Matthew Gillmore, 18, of Warren, who also was injured and cited for failure to control.
Financial aid workshop
McDONALD -- Gina McHenry, a financial aid adviser from Youngstown State University's Scholarship and Financial Aid Office, will conduct a financial aid workshop for McDonald High School students bound for college, at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catechetical Center, 601 Indiana Ave.
Dump truck stolen
SHARON, Pa. -- A dump truck was stolen from the 300 block of Shenango Street.
The 1990 red Chevy has chrome wheel covers, police said. It was taken from outside a warehouse sometime between Friday night and 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Facing multiple charges
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 20-year-old West Side resident faces charges of criminal damaging, discharge of a firearm within city limits and violating a civil protection order after a shotgun was fired at a neighbor's home after a fight with his live-in girlfriend.
The Randolph Street man was arrested at the Waverly Avenue home of a friend where he had gone to "cool off," reports show. The shotgun was discovered in the man's back yard.
Woman admits stabbing
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 34-year-old South Side woman faces a felonious assault charge after acknowledging to police that she stabbed her live-in boyfriend in the arm with a steak knife.
The woman told police she and the 39-year-old man were arguing about the woman's 18-year-old daughter Monday night in their Williams Street home.
The woman said she stabbed her boyfriend when he choked and punched her.
