CRIME SOLVER Mercer County

The theft of stained- and cut-glass windows is the focus of Mercer County Crime Solvers this week:
Crime: Burglary and theft.
Location: Sharon.
Details: Police are investigating the rash of thefts of stained- and cut-glass windows that have hit the city periodically over the past several years. The glass has been removed from the interior of older homes that are vacant, for sale or being remodeled. The thieves work quickly and silently, because nearby residents haven't noticed anything amiss when the crimes occur, police said. The thieves enter by breaking windows.
Contact: Call Crime Solvers between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at (724) 347-HELP. Callers do not have to give their names.
