Road blocked off because of gas leak

NORTH LIMA -- An underground natural gas leak at a sanitary sewer installation site forced Beaver Township firefighters to block off Harvard Boulevard between Western Reserve Road and Maple Drive Friday evening.
Although there was a strong odor of natural gas in the area, there was no explosion, fire or evacuation and there were no injuries, said Robert Morrison, Beaver Township assistant fire chief.
The leak at Harvard Boulevard and Warren Avenue was reported at about 7:45 p.m. He wouldn't speculate on what caused the leak, but heavy equipment was at the site.
