YOUNGSTOWN Arena board The city's civic center board handled these issues Thursday:
Talked about whether proposed elimination of the 17th Congressional District woul cause Youngstown to lose the $26.8 million federal dollars secured for the project.
Talked about trying to improve communications with city council and the city board of control, which makes the final decision on the project.
Member Claire Maulso said she'd been told by officials of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that the project must be finished by September 2005 and that the $26.8 million can't be spent other ways. The city has been told about both those items, she said.
Talked about inviting the board's choices for project managers, Gateway Consultants of Cleveland and Compass Facility Management of Iowa, to the next arena board meeting to learn more about how the two plan to approach details of the project.
