Transportation program
AUSTINTOWN -- Eastgate Regional Council of Governments is now organizing its 2002 Federal Transit Administration specialized transportation program for Mahoning and Trumbull counties. The program authorizes 80 percent federal funding to buy vans for transporting senior citizens and disabled people. Eligible applicants are private nonprofit organizations and public bodies approved by the state to coordinate transportation services or that certify to the Ohio Department of Transportation that no private nonprofit corporations are readily available in their area.
