People must try to stop Mosquito Lake drilling

Congratulations to the employees of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the politicians in Washington.
Again they have proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the voice of the people means absolutely nothing.
For four years the representatives of the communities around Mosquito Lake and 99 percent of the people within a 100 miles of Mosquito Lake have been fighting to stop the drilling under our drinking water. Thousands of signatures on petitions were collected and sent to Washington.
Not only have the politicians beaten the wishes of the people into the ground, to add insult to injury, they kick dirt in our face and stomp us into the ground with the heels of their boots.
How many times have we heard a politician running for re-election tell us that they are servants of the people, they work for us. Every time I hear a politician make that statement I want to throw up.
Politicians in Washington are masters at the art of lying to the people and telling them what they (the people) want to hear when they want to be re-elected to office.
Three months ago I wrote a letter, to senators Mike DeWine and George Voinovich and to Rep. Jim Traficant, to tell them that we the people did not want the B.L.M. to permit the drilling of gas/oil wells under Mosquito Lake. I also suggested that they pass emergency legislation and pass a bill that says, "there will be no drilling of gas/oil wells under any body of water that provides drinking water for the people." How long would it take to write this one paragraph in bill form (exactly as I have written it) and slip it in a group of bills that they know are going to pass. It's done all the time.
There are millions of acres of open land to drill on, they do not have to drill under drinking water.
As a last ditch effort, I would like to ask the help of you the people. Please cut out this letter and mail it to one of the representatives above. Their addresses are in the phone book. I am going to make two copies and send one to each of them.
Then we will see if the voice of the people will be heard. We will let them know that come next election we will remember this moment.
Let the voice of the people be heard loud and clear.
