FRIDAY
Bazetta Christian Church, 4131 Bazetta Road, Cortland, will serve fish dinners from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Meals include french fries, coleslaw, bread, desserts and beverage. The cost is $6.50 for adults, $4 for children 3-12 and free for those 2 and under.
XHoly Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will be taking orders for potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-ins will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday only. Patrons are asked to provide containers.
Fish dinners will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church Hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod, Spanish rice or haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries, coleslaw, bread, butter, coffee and tea. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeout orders. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.
Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pirogi and hot pirogi lunches. Orders will be taken from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528 and are to be picked up by 2 p.m. Friday.
Hubbard VFW 3767 Auxiliary, 710 W. Liberty St., will hold a fish fry from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is $6 for large dinners, baked or fried, and $4.25 for small dinners. National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will be serving a fish buffet and selling pirogi. The buffet will be available from 3:30 to 7 p.m. The cost will be $8 for adults and $5 for children. Potato and cheese pirogi may be ordered ahead as a takeout. The cost is $4 a dozen.
Orders for potato pirogi will be taken at St. Anne Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, at (330) 799-0084 from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $3.75 per dozen, and pickup will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Patrons may provide their own containers and are asked to use the side entrance.
St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be taking orders for pizza at (330) 746-9577 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. Orders must be picked up by 1 p.m. Friday.
Orders for potato, prune and kraut pirogi will be taken at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316. Orders can be picked up beginning at noon. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers.
St. Paul the Apostle Church, Route 170, Main Street, New Middletown, will be taking orders for potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi at (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon Friday. No walk-in order will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Frozen pirogi will be available.
St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will be taking orders for potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, based on availability, at (330) 747-3024. The cost is $3.50 a dozen. On Friday lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance.
VFW Triangle Post 2799 and Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve Swiss steak dinners from 4 to 8 p.m. Meals include green beans, applesauce, bread, and coffee or tea. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.
SATURDAY
A roast beef dinner is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. at Austintown Community Church, 242 S. Canfield-Niles Road. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.25 for children 10-12.
Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., will serve its 3rd Kentucky Mountain Dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to raise funds for the Red Bird Mission in Beverly, Ky. The menu will consist of ham, creamed chicken over biscuit, green beans, sweet potatoes, bean soup, corn bread, cobbler and beverage. Cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 6-12 and free for those 5 and under.
Spaghetti dinners will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave., Warren, by junior and senior high-school students. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children 5-11. For more information call Melanie Vlad, (330) 847-6487.
Hartford Masonic Temple, state Route 7 at 305, Hartford Center, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under. Meals include salad, bread and beverage; dessert is extra.
John T. Hutson-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center will hold a Quote the Raven bird breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. at the center, Daniel Street, Alliance. Registration is required and can be made by calling (330) 823-7487.
SUNDAY
Fowler Fire Department, state Route 193, will serve pancake, sausage and egg breakfasts from 7:30 to 1 p.m. Prices are $4.50 for adults, $3 for senior citizens, $3 for children 6-12 and free for preschoolers.
Italian-American War Veterans, Capt. Charles M. Marino Post 3, 113 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 5 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 6-10. Those 5 and under may eat for free. Carryouts also will be available to patrons providing their own containers.
XRoast beef dinners will be served at Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., from noon to 2 p.m. by the men's organization. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. The Boar's Head Ladies of St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 23 at the church. The menu will feature homemade baked chicken, salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $5, and containers will be provided for takeout orders.
