TOUGHMAN Fighters are ready for tournament



WARREN -- A toughman and toughwoman boxing tournament will be held Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. at Packard Music Hall.
Two divisions will be light heavyweight (160-184 pounds) and heavyweight (185-400 pounds), with the first price of $1,000. going to the winner in each division.
Second place will receive $250 and winner jackets will we awarded only if there are six or more contestants in division.
The two toughwomen divisions are light heavyweight (160-184) and heavyweight (185-400), with total prize money to be paid $600. Split will be announced.
Fighters must hold amateur status with no professionals allowed.
Matches will be three 1-minute rounds with a half-minute break between rounds. Three judges will score the fights the same as professional boxings 10-point must system.
Winners will come back and compete in their class in the single elimination event. Boxers must be ready at all times and never know when they will fight.
All fighters will be licensed by the Ohio Athletic Commission and will be assisted in the process.
Boxers must provide a mouthpiece to be worn during fights and must bring their own towels (two recommended), a water bottle and tape for wrapping hands.
Headgear, mandatory 16-ounce gloves and groin protection will be provided.
The weigh-in-party will be held at Leon's Sports Bar and Grill in Warren Thursday at 7 p.m.
Entry fee is $60 and includes State of Ohio license fee.
