YOUNGSTOWN -- The closing date has been extended until Friday for the Senior Singles Bowling Tournament, set for Saturday and Sunday.
The tournament, for bowlers age 55-64 in Division C & amp;D, will be held at Westside Lanes on Saturday and Boardman Lanes Sunday. Both days the event starts at 1 p.m.
Ursuline tickets
PICKERINGTON -- Tickets are now on sale for the Fairfield Federal All-Ohio Girls Prep Shoot Out to be held at Pickerington High School this weekend.
There are seven games scheduled the first day and Ursuline High will face New Albany on Sunday at 12:45 p.m. The final two days of the meet there will be six games each day.

Bellisari leaves jail
COLUMBUS -- Former Ohio State quarterback Steve Bellisari left jail Sunday after serving three days for drunken driving.
He was stopped by university police Nov. 16, and charged with drunken driving. His blood-alcohol limit was more than twice the legal state limit.
He pleaded no contest Nov. 28 and was sentenced to three days in jail and three days in an alcohol diversion program. His driver's license was suspended for six months.
D'Andrea commits to Ohio State
COLUMBUS -- Linebacker Mike D'Andrea, who had 146 tackles last season for Avon Lake High School, said he will play college football at Ohio State.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound D'Andrea chose Ohio State over Nebraska.
He was selected for the first team, Division II All-Ohio Associated Press high school football team.
D'Andrea is the 18th commitment to this fall's class at Ohio State.
Other members of the class include Warren Harding running back Maurice Clarett, who graduated early and already is enrolled at Ohio State and Howland offensive lineman Doug Datish.

Man to stand trialfor golf cart DUI
COVINGTON, Ky. -- A man who police say was drunk when he raced his golf cart down the 17th fairway at a golf course must stand trial on a drunken-driving charge, a judge has ruled.
Circuit Judge Steve Jaeger, overruling a decision by District Judge Ann Ruttle, said a golf cart is a motor vehicle for the purposes of the DUI laws.
"The legislature did not intend to prohibit an intoxicated person from operating a motor vehicle anywhere in this state, ... [and then] exclude from the definition of 'motor vehicles' vehicles not being driven on a public highway," Jaeger wrote. "That interpretation makes no sense."
The decision is a victory for Kenton County Attorney Garry Edmondson, whose office appealed Ruttle's original decision dismissing the case.
Todd A. Pritchare, 31, of Westerville, Ohio, was arrested Aug. 28, 1999. An employee at Fox Ron Golf Course noticed him on the 17th fairway underneath a golf cart.
County police were called, and according to court records, determined that Pritchare had been speeding down a hill when he tried to make a left turn and flipped over. He was charged with drunken driving.
Jaeger's decision sent the case back to district court, with orders to try Pritchare on the drunken-driving charge.
Loyola beats UW-GB
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Corey Minnifield scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half, leading Loyola to a 72-68 victory over Wisconsin-Green Bay in a Horizon League men's game Saturday night.
Loyola (9-5, 4-0) had to hold off Green Bay down the stretch, and Minnifield helped settle it with his tip-in of a missed free throw put the Ramblers up 68-61 with 30 seconds left.
Green Bay (3-11, 0-3), led by freshman guard Matt Rohde with 17 points, has lost its first three conference games for the first time since the 1988-89 season.
Red Sox ownersstick with first bid
BOSTON -- The owners of the Boston Red Sox declined to pursue a $700 million offer to buy the team because it was too late, and they reconfirmed their Dec. 20 decision to accept a $660 million bid from a group led by Florida financier John Henry.
Meanwhile, Massachusetts Attorney General Thomas Reilly is trying to determine if baseball commissioner Bud Selig's office improperly guided the Red Sox into accepting the Henry group's bid.
Bobsledder filesgrievance
SALT LAKE CITY -- Jen Davidson filed a grievance with the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation against former partner Jean Racine, demanding a race-off and calling Racine's choice of another brakewoman unfair.
