Dinner is held to mark Bennetts' 50th anniversary

NEW MIDDLETOWN -- A private dinner party being held today at Antone's Restaurant in Columbiana will mark the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bennett, 16 Circleview Drive.
Planned by Mr. Bennett, the party is a surprise for his wife, who also is celebrating her birthday.
Married Jan. 16, 1952, in New Bern, N.C., the couple are the parents of two sons, Gary Bennett of Manhattan, Kan., and Doug Bennett of Floyds Knobs, Ind. They also have four grandchildren.
Mrs. Bennett, the former Sylvia Wray, and her husband are members of Zion Lutheran Church, and she belongs to New Middletown Senior Citizens.
Mr. Bennett served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-53 and retired in 1995 from Plexco Inc. in North Lima, where he was a millwright. He is a member of Lowellville Rod and Gun Club and the National Rifle Association.
