Teachers in Sebring send strike notice

SEBRING -- The Sebring Local Education Association sent a strike notice to the board of education Friday, setting Jan. 23 as the strike date.
The union said in a statement it has been working without a contract since Aug. 31, 2001, and that bargaining last Sunday was "unproductive."
The union said issues unresolved are job security, reduction in force, evaluation, class size in special education classes, salary and insurance.
