GETTING IT RIGHT

UClaire Maluso, hired by U.S. Rep. James A. Traficant Jr. in June 1998, was designated as his Mahoning Valley economic development and community outreach representative. A story published Wednesday said Maluso was hired to fill the district director position when Charles P. O'Nesti resigned.
USome Warren city officials and Trumbull County Commissioner Joseph J. Angelo Jr. have called for Trumbull to be split from Mahoning County in a congressional district, but have not written letters to state officials seeking that move.
It was reported Wednesday, based on incorrect information provided by state officials, that the city officials and Angelo had sent letters about congressional redistricting.
UA story Thursday about a state auditor's report outlining deficiencies in Girard city accounting procedures should have said that some of the deficiencies fall within city Auditor Sam Zirafi's office, such as establishing special funds without authority. The deficiencies predate Zirafi, who took over the office earlier this year.
