2 arrested in eatery robbery

AUSTINTOWN -- Police have arrested two men in connection with last week's gunpoint robbery at Antone's Restaurant on Mahoning Avenue.
Both men were charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping, theft, and safecracking. One man, 21, of Hillman Street, was arrested by police and members of the Mahoning County Violent Crimes Task Force Tuesday morning at a West Princeton Avenue home.
The other man, 22, of Albright-McKay North East, Brookfield, was arrested Friday night at a bus station in Louisville, Ky., by Louisville police. Austintown police said the man was on a bus bound for New Orleans. He was brought back to Austintown by Austintown police.
Police said they think the men robbed Antone's last Wednesday night and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
In parking lot: Two restaurant employees told police they noticed the men hiding behind a transformer in the restaurant's rear parking lot around 10 p.m. The restaurant manager went with the two employees and another restaurant worker into the lot to investigate.
The men then stood up and pointed handguns at the employees. One of the men pointed a gun at the manager's head and demanded the money.
The manager gave them the night deposit bag. One of the employees escaped and went to the Lodge restaurant next door to call 911.
The men demanded more money, and the manager gave them cash from the safe and the registers. The men fled after ordering the employees to get under booths in the restaurant dining room.
