The city board of health handled these matters at its Monday meeting:
Received funding for two projects and will be reimbursed for off-site services to inmates under the control of the Mahoning County Justice Center who have HIV or AIDS.
Received $25,000 from the Ohio Department of Health to continue its Oral Health Dental Sealant Program, under which about 1,000 second- and sixth-grade children are targeted for sealant to prevent cavities. The program received the same amount in 2001.
Received $160,000 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to continue for three years the department's outreach program to the homeless. Neil Altman, health commissioner, said Youngstown is one of the few districts in the state that provides medical treatment to the homeless.
Tentatively approved a contract with Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Place, for 345 square feet of roof space and 255 square feet of interior space for air monitoring equipment.
Granted a $20-per-month cellular phone allowance for management employees, upon verification that the employee uses a cell phone for business purposes. The $20 allowance was previously for union employees only.
