Parks photo contest
Send in your favorite 2001 photos from a national park, and you could have the image featured on the next National Parks Pass. The photographer will also receive a trip to the national park.
The deadline is Jan. 15.

U.S. Botanic Gardenreopens in capital
The U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington, D.C., reopened recently after being closed since September 1997 for restoration and renovation.
The conservatory's glass dome is a landmark along the National Mall near the foot of the Capitol, east of the Air & amp; Space Museum.
The work replaced and modernized the building's systems but left its outer appearance largely unchanged.
Inside the building are more than 4,000 plants and a tropical rain forest.
