After firebombing, police arrest three

YOUNGSTOWN -- The aftermath of a firebombing at 1955 Smithfield St. turned up stolen vehicles, marijuana, a gun and dangerous ordnance.
Arrested were the resident, Richard J. Stiles, and two men who entered the West Side home Sunday afternoon -- after the place had been padlocked by the fire department's arson bureau. The firebombing took place around 6 a.m. Sunday.
Stiles, 25, is charged with receiving stolen property, removal of a vehicle identification number and drug abuse. Charges of trespass were not filed against the other two men
Police collected more than $1,100 in cash, two bags of marijuana, a 37mm ordnance typically used by police tactical units as a distraction device, a 9mm handgun and ammunition, box cutters and night vision goggles. Eight photos of gang members were also seized.
Vehicles found: Police found a 1999 Honda four-wheeler that had been reported stolen Dec. 1 to Weathersfield Police Department by a Girard man. Officers also found a 1985 Chevrolet van with a license plate registered to a 1988 van and a 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier with its vehicle identification number altered, reports show.
Kevin Johnson, an arson investigator, called police to the Smithfield house after finding the marijuana in the living room.
