Palmer wins Trumbull bee



CHAMPION -- Allyson Palmer of Joseph Badger Middle School won, and Marissa Gomes of Lordstown was the runner-up in the 12th annual Trumbull County Spelling Bee on Wednesday at Champion High School.
Sponsored by the Trumbull County Educational Service Center and the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber, this event helped pupils prepare for the annual spelling contests sponsored by The Vindicator and The Tribune Chronicle of Warren. Fifty pupils from 17 school districts participated.
Also in the top 10 were Michael Douglas Jr., Howland Middle School, third; Rebecca Hayes, Champion Middle School, fourth; David Barnes, Lakeview Middle School, fifth; Jacob Rosenberger, Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Niles, sixth; Maurice Smith, East Middle School, Warren, seventh; Marissa Nocera, Queen of Angels School, Warren, eighth; Erick Nevin, Maplewood North Elementary School, ninth; and Katie Daniluk, Roosevelt Elementary School, McDonald, 10th.
