HORIZON LEAGUE Women's tournament field

No. 1 -- Wisconsin-Green Bay (21-6, 15-1).
The Phoenix defeated neighboring rival and defending Horizon champion Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the season finale 88-66 to clinch the regular season title and No. 1 seed in the tournament. It is the third straight league title that the Phoenix have won or shared. They are led by 6-1 senior Mandy Stowe (15.8 ppg), 5-9 junior Sara Boyer (13.6) and 5-8 senior Amanda Leonhard (10.9). The Phoenix's only league loss was at Cleveland State 66-55.
No. 2 -- Wisconsin-Milwaukee (20-7, 14-2).
The Panthers dominated everybody in the Horizon League but Wisconsin-Green Bay, which handed them their only two conference losses, one in overtime 83-75. They are the defending tournament champion and competed in the 2001 NCAA tournament, losing to Duke 96-63 in the first round. The Panthers are led by 6-3 sophomore Maria Viall (16.8 ppg), 5-8 junior Jessica Wilhite (12.7) and 5-7 senior Holly Tamm (10-2). Viall also averages 6.9 rebounds and has 43 blocked shots.
No. 3 -- Detroit Mercy (14-13, 9-7).
The Titans defeated Loyola of Chicago in their final game to lock up third place in the standings. They are led offensively by 6-1 sophomore Randee Henry (15.0 ppg), 5-10 senior Molly Peterson (14.2) and 5-5 senior Michelle James (14.0). Henry also led the team in rebounding with 167.
No. 4 -- Loyola of Chicago (14-13, 8-8).
The Ramblers tied with Youngstown State in the standings but got the No. 4 seed since they defeated the Penguins twice in the regular season. They are led by 5-7 junior Tracy Hoffman (10.1 ppg), 6-1 senior Lauren Sirus (9.6) and 6-1 sophomore Maggie Toczylowski (8.6).
No. 5 -- Youngstown State (12-15, 8-8).
No. 6 -- Cleveland State (13-14, 7-9).
The Vikings defeated Illinois-Chicago in their season finale 64-57. They are led by 5-8 junior Erika Roudebush (18.3 ppg), who broke the school record for 3-point goals this season with 65. She led the Horizon League in 3-point goals made this year. Sophomore Ashley Schrock also averages in double figures (10.3).
No. 7 -- Illinois-Chicago (14-14, 6-10).
The Flames' season-ending loss to Cleveland State 64-57 cost them the No. 6 seed in the tournament. Leading the way for the Flames is 6-2 junior Jaysie Chambers (12.1), who is one of the top rebounders in the league at 7.0 per game. She led the league in offensive rebounds, averaging 3.12. Also in double figures this year are 5-6 junior LeKesha Williams (10.7) and 6-2 senior Stesha Rhodes (10.2).
No. 8 -- Wright State (6-21, 4-12).
The Raiders struggled through the season, getting two league wins against Bultler and the other two against Illinois-Chicago and Cleveland State. They are led offensively by 5-10 freshman Tiffany Webb (15.5) and 5-11 sophomore Lesha Gray (10.5). Webb was also one of the conference leaders in steals, averaging 2.80 per contest.
No. 9 -- Butler (2-25, 1-14).
The Bulldogs had only one league victory this season, but that came against No. 4 seed Loyola of Chicago 81-73. The Bulldogs started three freshmen and two sophomores most of the year. They are led by 5-10 sophomore Sarah Bolten (10.8 ppg) and 5-2 sophomore Nancy Bowden (10.8). Bolten also led the team in rebounds (7.8).
