Eastwood Mall sues Target for payments

YOUNGSTOWN -- Target Corp. owes the Eastwood Mall $212,000 in lease payments, a lawsuit says.
The store's landlord filed a suit Friday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court that asks for payment plus interest from Target Corp. of Minneapolis.
An exhibit attached to the suit lists these amounts owed as of Wednesday: $174,000, real estate taxes; $36,000, service charge; $2,000, insurance; and $300, common area maintenance.
Lease agreement: The store's lease calls for payments of these items in addition to rent, the suit says.
Ronald Yourstowsky, a lawyer for Cafaro Co., said company policy prohibits him from commenting on the suit.
Cafaro Co. owns the mall, but the suit identified Marion Plaza Inc. as Target's landlord. The suit lists Marion's address as the same as Cafaro's, 2445 Belmont Ave.
A spokeswoman for Target declined to comment.
The discount retailer opened its store in the Niles mall in 1999 and now is building a store in Boardman.
