Haleys honored at dinner for 50th anniversary



YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. James Haley of Youngstown were honored Feb. 21 at a family dinner at Lone Star Steakhouse in Boardman in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Haley and the former Emma Jean Preston were married Feb. 21, 1952, at Scotts African Methodist Episcopal Church in Maysville, Ky.
They have four children, Lansing Haley of Southington, James A. Haley and Eugene Haley, both of Youngstown, and Kathy Talley of Dayton. Nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild complete their family.
Mrs. Haley is a homemaker and member of Covenant Chapter 48, Order of Eastern Star, and is past illustrious commandress of Al Asir Court 200.
Her husband served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1950-52. He retired in 1993 after 28 years as a pipefitter at General Motors in Lordstown. He is a member and past master of Covenant Lodge 59 and is past potentate of Al Asir Temple 200. He also belongs to Excelsior Chapter 39 Royal Arch Masons.
The Haleys are members of St. Andrewes African Methodist Episcopal Church.
