NILES -- Bart Simpson, star of Fox Network's "The Simpsons," will be at the Eastwood Mall on Friday and Saturday during Kidfest.
Bart will make half-hour appearances from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday and from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the center court.
Kidfest features information, demonstrations and hands-on activities. Youngsters also can sign up for the Fox Kids Club.
Burglary in Pa.
NORTH BEAVER, Pa. -- State police are investigating a break-in at a home on Mount Jackson Road on Saturday morning that netted burglars $3,300 worth of goods.
Reports show that a TV, stereo system, DVD player and shotgun were taken.
Asthma discussion
WARREN -- Dr. William L. Houser, director of the asthma center at Tod Children's Hospital, will discuss asthma risk factors, triggers, signs, symptoms, treatment and medications from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday in Conference Room B in Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Lordstown school board
LORDSTOWN -- The school board will meet in special session at 6 p.m. Thursday in the high school media center for an executive session on personnel issues and to discuss a plan for career and technical education services.
Lenten meditation
SHARON, Pa. -- St. John's Episcopal Church, 226 W. State St., will present the second of its Lenten Meditation-Recital series at noon Tuesday.
Suzanne Lee will open the program with carillon music followed by a performance by harpist Kirk Kupensky. Kupensky provides harp therapy at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.
A light lunch will be served in the parish house after the program.
Union Twp. supervisorsset reservation dates
UNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Residents who wish to reserve pavilions at Scotland Meadows Park can do so from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. March 4, supervisors announced. Cost will be $35. Nonresidents' reservations will be set the week of March 11.
Supervisors set pay for Sally Byler, township secretary/treasurer, at $25 per meeting. They also waived the probationary period for newly hired Patrolman Mike McBride because he has extensive police experience.
They appointed Supervisor Kevin Guinaugh as representative to the Lawrence County Council of Governments, Barbara Brown as backup sewer enforcement officer and Byler as fair housing officer.
