WARREN 'Bad Blood' will erupt at Packard main event

The Power Pac Award will go to top-ranked heavyweight Randy Stephens.
WARREN -- John "Macho Midget" Bailey wonders when he will get a shot at a world title. His record of 19-8-2 is deceiving because he has fought the best in his division (junior welterweight) and had to go to his opponents' back yard to do so.
"I think I deserve a chance at a title," said Bailey, who will be fighting on March 16 at Packard Music Hall.
"I fought the best and never ducked an opponent."
Bailey will be in the main event, one of three eight-round bouts on the card titled "Bad Blood." He will tangle with Dean "The Destroyer" Nichols (10-5) from Lima, Ohio.
Others on card: Also on the card is Lou Bizzaro Jr. (18-1), who will face an opponent still to be named. Bizzaro's father fought Roberto Duran for the world lightweight title in 1976.
Another eight-round bout will feature Charlie Howe (13-3) of Grelton, Ohio, who has fought in this area before and has a big following here. He will meet Brian Thatcher of Gallipolis; in his last fight here, Thatcher gave the crowd a good account of himself in a close, hard-fought bout.
Also on the card will be P.C. Torres (1-0) of Warren against J.C. Coon of Huntington, W.Va., making his pro debut, in a scheduled four-rounder.
Another four-round bout, at 168 pounds, will feature Bob Reber of Youngstown and Casey Leathers of Toledo.
Grudge match: There will be a special charity grudge match between Jim Loboy of Hot FM 101 and Brian "The Freak" Morris.
Another attraction will be Dominic Leonelli of Struthers against an opponent to be named.
The event will feature the appearance of special guests Kelly Pavlik, Greg Pruitt of the Browns, R.J. Bowers of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jeff Wallace of Minerva and the Boston Red Sox.
The former top-ranked cruiserweight and a top-ranked heavyweight, Randy Stephens, will be presented with the Power Pac Award. Stephens was also a top-ranked heavyweight who fought the best in the world.
Ticket prices: Tickets are $300 for a 10-seat table, $20 for upper reserve and $10 for balcony seats. They can be purchased at Bob's Barber Shop, Down Town Sports Center, Clemons Wine Cellar, Bobby D's and Cumulus Radio in Youngstown; Riordan's Sports in Hubbard; Cordy's Cigar Box in Girard; and Buena Vista Cafe, Warren Boxing Association, Pizza Hut, Nannicola Wholesale and Packard Music Hall in Warren.
