The township trustees took the following action Thursday night:
UVoted to purchase a new ambulance for $102,306 from Penn Care of Warren. One other bid met the specifications and it bid came in at $114,948. The rescue squad should receive the ambulance in three to four months. Squad Chief Margie Brown said the department will not keep the old ambulance.
UVoted to accept the only bid submitted for rescue squad equipment from Howell Rescue Equipment of Kettering. The squad will receive jaws of life, air bags and air chisels for $33,000. The equipment will be delivered by Saturday.
UAuthorized Road Superintendent John Stear to buy a new tractor for mowing. The township will receive a $2,400 trade-in credit on a $6,804 tractor. Stear said it would have cost $4,300 to repair the old tractor.
UHired three part-time dispatchers. They are Jason Osborne, 25, of Beaver Township; Kimberly Carney, 38, of Austintown; and Catherine Grey Kasper, 32, of Poland.
UAppointed James Mullins, 32, of Boardman to the reserve police officer roster.
