SALEM ROTARY Fellowships go to 3 past presidents



The recipients received plaques during a meeting.
SALEM -- The Salem Rotary Club awarded Bryce W. Kendall Fellowships to three past presidents of the organization during a meeting Feb. 19 at Salem Memorial Building.
Fellowship recipients were George W.S. Hays, librarian and administrator of Salem Public Library; Frank A. Zamarelli Jr., president of Salem Computer Center; and Atty. Geoffrey S. Goll.
Bryce Kendall served the club as president, district governor, board member of Rotary International and founder of the Salem Rotary Club's student exchange program. Mrs. Kendall presented plaques to the three men in recognition of their financial support and services to the Salem Rotary Foundation.
The mission of the foundation is to support and foster the ideals of Rotary International, which stresses friendship, truth, goodwill. Income from financial gifts to the foundation has been used to support the following: Rotary exchange students; relief efforts to Kosovo, Yugoslavia; Salem families who have lost their homes to fires; the phone booth program; the purchase of books for needy children; Honduras Disaster Relief; and the county 911 study.
