Chaney girls thump Field

AUSTINTOWN -- Sumya McElroy scored 16 points and Tara Mshar added 12 points, as Chaney routed Field 60-42 Wednesday night at the Division II sectional girls basketball tournament at Austintown Fitch High School.
The Cowboys led just 22-21 at halftime, but outscored Field 18-6 in the third quarter and cruised from that point.
Donielle Eldridge added nine points for Chaney (8-13), which will play Howland on Saturday at Fitch.
Tara Savage, Joanna Griffith and Kim Shanafelt each scored eight points for Field (7-14).
Mooney 54, Liberty 41: The Cardinals advanced to play Poland at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fitch.
