UA parent, Linda Blackstone, complained to the board Tuesday that student fees are too high, saying the fees of her two children, one in 7th grade and one in 10th grade, come to $103 this year, up from $50 last year. She noted that some items aren't even used. As an example, she held up "Science World," which cost $10, which she said is put on a back shelf for those who might want to use it.
UPrincipal Dave Wilson explained that he had gone over fees with the teachers before school started to make sure they would charge only for things they really needed and used. Wilson said the board will consider shaving costs next year.
