NEW CASTLE Hospital seeks heroes for awards



Dinner proceeds help pay for free hospital care.
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Lawrence County residents can nominate their local hero for the St. Francis Hospital of New Castle 2002 Salute to Courage Award.
The life story of each award recipient will be featured in a video presentation Oct. 16 at the 11th annual Salute to Courage Awards dinner.
What's needed: Nominators should tell the nominee's story of a courageous comeback accurately and in detail (500 words or less). Residents also may nominate an individual who has courageously cared for someone in need.
Please include this information:
UThe nature of the illness, injury or adversity and its impact on the individual's life.
UThe degree of difficulty in overcoming obstacles, level of determination and perseverance.
UAbility to reach goals in spite of setbacks and obstacles.
UContribution to the community or society.

The Salute to Courage Awards Dinner raises money to help pay for the care of St. Francis patients who cannot afford necessary treatment. Dinner proceeds help offset the costs of the free care provided annually by the hospital.
