USaw Auditor Michael C. Villano presented with a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association, a nonprofit professional organization.
UIn a joint session with Hubbard Township trustees, set the millage for Hubbard Union Cemetery at 0.2 mills, the same amount as in past years.
UAuthorized payment of $1,500 to the city/township Joint Economic Development District board reserve fund.
UApproved a request for a water tap at Harding Park for the Hubbard Community Youth League.
UApproved paying $7,500 in operating expenses for Hubbard Union Cemetery.
UAuthorized the board of control to enter into a contract for water service with Trumbull County for the Flying J truck plaza project at state Route 62 and Interstate 80, just north of the city limits in the township.
UDid not respond to resident Foster Benton of 224 School St., who asked for an explanation of a surcharge on city light bills. Benton said Niles officials told him they had no such charge even though they share the same electricity supplier as Hubbard. Benton wanted to know if the charge was a "money machine" for the city.
