CAMPBELL -- If someone had told Campbell Memorial High coach Bob Fick that his leading scorer, Terrell Harris, would only score six points in Tuesday night's game against Struthers, he would have figured that the Red Devils would have lost.
But Robert Anderson scored 18 and Ricky Quinn added 14 as Campbell (9-10) downed the visiting Wildcats 59-49.
Mike Harden added nine points and eight rebounds for Campbell while Jim Franceschelli and Jason Martin each had 16 points and Jim Tabak added 10 to pace Struthers (10-10).
After Campbell scored the game's first basket, the Wildcats scored the next nine points over the next five minutes. Martin finished with six points in the quarter and Struthers led 13-8 after the first quarter as Campbell was just 3-of-16 from the field.
Armstrong and Quinn combined to score 13 points in the second quarter as the Red Devils rallied to tie the game at 26-all on a basket by Jerry Smith just before the end of the half.
Anthony Wright scored his only basket of the game to give the Red Devils the lead at the start of the second half. A Harden basket pushed the advantage to four, and every time the 'Cats closed within one point either Armstrong or Quinn would score.
Rallies answered: Back-to-back baskets by Mohammad Awad near the end of the period pushed the Red Devils to a 43-36 lead before Struthers scored the last three points to make the score 43-39 entering the last eight minutes.
Two baskets by Harden pushed the Red Devils' lead to 49-41 in the last quarter. Franceschelli connected on two of his four 3-pointers in the last quarter.
"Our seniors played great tonight," Fick said. "They led us to the victory. We also had a great game from our two sophomore guards, Quinn and Chris Melnik.
"We have been up and down all year long; tonight we played hard and it paid off. Robert Armstrong played his best game of the year."
Campbell had 16 turnovers to 24 for Struthers. Campbell was 25-of-57 from the field while Struthers was 18-of-47, including 7-of-21 from 3-point territory. Campbell had 33 rebounds to 31 for the 'Cats. Martin finished with eight rebounds for Struthers.
Harris had six steals three assists while Nick Leiter had four assists for the Wildcats.
Struthers coach Joe Fuline said, "Give all the credit to [Campbell]. That is all I have to say."
