YOUNGSTOWN Man, 89, stabbed in his home

YOUNGSTOWN -- An 89-year-old South Side man was stabbed several times during a robbery at his Midlothian Boulevard home and was in critical condition this morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
City police found Michael A. Butch at about 5:35 p.m. Sunday at his home in the 800 block, bleeding from his neck and abdomen, and propped up against the door to his apartment. A neighbor had seen him crawling to the door and called for help.
Butch nodded when an officer asked if a woman had stabbed and robbed him, pointing to his front pants pockets that were pulled out as if someone had gone through them.
Witnesses told police that female crack addicts often visited Butch asking for money. One witness said he had recently refused to give money to one of the women.
Officers found a blood stain inside the apartment with a trail of blood leading to Butch.
