NEW CASTLE Police chase wanted man

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- City police said a man wanted in Duquesne, Pa., on attempted criminal homicide charges was involved in a police chase here.
Andre Joseph, 23, of Duquesne refused to pull over about 4:18 a.m. Saturday for a traffic stop, and police chased him through several North Hill and lower west side streets. Joseph eventually crashed into a trash receptacle on Grant Street, police said. New Castle firefighters extricated Joseph and a 15-year-old passenger from the car.
Authorities did not release the 15-year-old boy's name, but they said he is a New Castle resident. Joseph was taken to UPMC in Pittsburgh, and hospital officials refused to release information on his condition this morning.
It's unclear where the 15-year-old boy was taken for treatment. New Castle Police said they are still continuing their investigation and criminal charges are pending.
