Pennsylvania offers 2002 Travel Planner

Pennsylvania offers2002 Travel Planner
Pennsylvania's 2002 Travel Planner is off the presses. It's a 352-page digest in a new format that resembles a small-town phone book more than a typical state tourism guide.
The cleanly designed guide nicely organizes a wealth of contact information for the state's regions and attractions. The book ends with a 36-page calendar of events for the year -- a departure from the state's usual practice of publishing seasonal calendars.
You can get the free guide by calling (800) 847-4872 or by going to www.experiencepa.com on the Web.
New Jersey improvesits online travel guide
Meanwhile, New Jersey continues to beef up its online travel guide at www.state.nj.us/travel. The site now has one of the best search engines around for finding events, allowing users to effortlessly locate festivals, craft shows and other events in at least three ways.
The New Jersey site is also notable because its database is so rich with events compared with those of some states, which sink a lot of effort into Web-site design but fail to supply many listings. New Jersey provides Web links to events when available, another big plus.
The state also has a published guide, which can be ordered through the Web site or by calling (800) 847-4865.
