Confrontation with deputy brings charges against woman

NORTH JACKSON -- A Youngstown woman is facing several charges after a confrontation with a Mahoning County deputy sheriff in the parking lot of Jackson-Milton High School.
The woman, 35, of North Dunlap Street, is charged with criminal trespass, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
The deputy spoke with the woman and her friend, the wife of a Jackson-Milton school bus driver, in a car in the parking lot of the school at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The 2-year-old son of the bus driver and the woman's friend also was in the car.
School officials were concerned that the women wanted a confrontation with the bus driver in the parking lot. The deputy, who was working at the school, asked the women to leave.
The North Dunlap Street woman, who was holding the 2-year-old, responded by swearing at and pushing the deputy, the deputy said. The deputy struggled with the woman before taking the boy.
The woman was then arrested. She had to be handcuffed twice, as her small wrists allowed her to slip out of the first set of handcuffs used to restrain her.
