Brotherhood Week event to be held at Masonic temple



NILES -- A ceremony commemorating Brotherhood Week will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Masonic Temple, 22 W. Church St.
A highlight of the event will be the presentation of the 2002 Brotherhood Award to Agnes Boyd, the founder of Boyd's Kinsman Home, a private residence for mildly to severely mentally retarded adults.
Mrs. Boyd, 84, lives at the home, where she works as a houseparent for the 45 residents.
The event is free to the public. No reservations are required, and refreshments will be served.
The annual event is co-sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, B'nai B'rith and the Free and Accepted Masons.
Past recipients: Among former honorees are Aaron Grossman, Irma Davis, John O. and Virginia Welch, William Veigh, the Rev. George Balasko, Charles J. Foley, Rabbi Samuel Meyer, Dr. Sidney Berkowitz, Doris Burdman, Edward Hulme and Harold Davis.
