The Eagles hit 18-of-22 free throws in the fourth quarter.

CAMPBELL -- Warren JFK broke to a 36-22 lead at halftime, then after seeing Campbell rally to tie the score in the third quarter, the Eagles connected on 18-of-22 free throws in the fourth quarter to defeat the Red Devils 71-58.
Chris Macali paced Warren JFK with 20 points, 16 of them coming at the charity stripe, as he connected on his last 14 attempts. Keith Black added 17 points, Colin Clemente 13 and Luke Vincer 10 for the Eagles (10-9).
Robert Armstrong paced the Red Devils with 12 points, while Mike Harden and Terrell Harris added 11 each for Campbell (8-10).
Warren JFK scored the first nine points of the game before the Red Devils got on the scoreboard. Clemente and Black had five each in the period, which saw the Eagles lead 20-10.
In the second quarter, Black scored seven, and Warren JFK increased the lead to 36-22 at halftime. The Eagles held Harris, the Red Devils' leading scorer at 14 points a game, without a point in the first half.
"We never gave up the lead, which I thought was important," Warren JFK coach John Condoleon said. "Harris hurt us last year. Our goal was to slow him down, and we did a real good job in the first half on him."
Campbell rallied with a 18-4 run at the start of the third quarter, and tied the score at 40-40, before the Eagles scored the last six points of the period to lead 46-40 entering the last quarter.
On the line: Fouls caught up to Campbell in the last period as three Red Devil players fouled out of the game in the last eight minutes. Still, the Devils stayed close and trailed only by three at 59-56, when a foul and technical foul was called on Campbell with 45 seconds remaining. Macali hit the four free throws, which sealed the game for the Eagles.
"We came out sluggish in the second half," Condoleon said. "Give Campbell credit, they fought back hard. We did a good job at the foul line. Our guards did a great job tonight."
Warren JFK connected on 19-of-42 (45 percent) from the field and also hit 5-of-11 3-point field goals. Campbell was 23-of-61 (38 percent) from the field, but missed all 16 of its 3-point attempts.
The foul line was the difference. The Eagles were 28-of-39, while Campbell was just 12-of-20. The Red Devils were called for 30 fouls, while Warren JFK was whistled just 16 times.
"We made a good run in the second half, but the foul trouble and the big hole we dug for ourselves hurt us," Campbell coach Bob Fick said.
