Jury deliberates in child-rape trial



WARREN -- The jury considering charges of rape, corruption of a minor and sexual battery against Robert Gibson, 62, of Albright McKay Road, Brookfield, will return to Trumbull County Common Pleas Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday to resume deliberations.
With Judge John Stuard presiding, the trial began Monday. The jury deliberated for nearly three hours Friday afternoon before leaving for the long Presidents Day weekend.
Gibson, who is charged with raping a 14-year-old girl, could face up to 40 years in prison if convicted.
Gibson is the father of Robert Leroy Gibson III, 38, also of Albright McKay Road, who has pleaded innocent to charges he threw semen at women in Eastwood Mall and a nearby Kmart.
