Crash on Route 11 injures 2 women

EAST LEWISTON -- Two 20-year-old women are hospitalized in serious condition after being ejected from the front seat of a car that collided with a Mack truck on state Route 11 southbound between U.S. Route 224 and state Route 46.
The car's driver, Christa R. Briceland of Maple Springs Drive, Canfield, was taken to Salem Community Hospital and flown to St. Elizabeth Health Center, and her front-seat passenger, Stacey L. Robinson of Haymaker Avenue, Warren, also was transferred from Salem Community Hospital to St. Elizabeth's.
Neither was wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred at around 10 a.m. Thursday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
The car's back-seat passenger, Joseph Harrison III, 20, of Belmont Avenue, Warren, was treated at St. Elizabeth's.
The truck driver, Spencer R. Risden, 39, of Wheeling, W.Va., was not injured. Both wore seat belts.
The car was in the left lane when Briceland lost control, went off the left side of the road, overcorrected, re-entered the road, and hit the truck, which was in the right lane, the patrol said.
The car then rolled over several times, ejecting its front-seat occupants.
