WARREN 4 indicted in credit union robbery

The stolen money has not been recovered, police said.

WARREN -- The Trumbull County grand jury has indicted four men in the Feb. 4 robbery of the Seven Seventeen Credit Union in Hubbard Township.
Kenneth Tyler, 31, of Tod Avenue, Warren; Eric Rivers, 27, of Tod Avenue, Warren; and Val Bender, 26, of Main Street, Warren, were each indicted on a charge of aggravated robbery with a gun specification, four counts of kidnapping and one charge of illegal possession of a weapon.
Donald J. Tate, 38, of Warren was indicted on one charge of aggravated robbery with a gun specification and four counts of kidnapping.
Arraignment: Tyler, Bender and Tate are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in the courtroom of Judge W. Wyatt McKay. Rivers is scheduled to be arraigned next Thursday in the courtroom of Judge John Stuard.
All four are being held in the county jail. Bender, Rivers and Tyler must each post a bond of $75,000 to be released; Tate's bond is set at $50,000.
What happened: Hubbard Township Police Detective Michael Begeot said three men -- two of them armed -- entered the building shortly before 9:30 a.m. and took cash. Police have declined to say how much was taken and said the money has not yet been recovered.
The four suspects were captured after a 45-minute chase through a Howland neighborhood.
They fled in a blue Lincoln Town Car before Hubbard Township police arrived.
The car was spotted going west on state Route 82 by Brookfield Police Chief Dan Faustino. The chase was picked up by a deputy sheriff who saw the car on the other side of the divided highway as he drove east in Vienna Township.
The car turned south on Howland-Wilson Road to avoid a Howland patrol car in the westbound lane of Route 82.
After the blue Lincoln turned west on Huntley Avenue, it slowed down and all four doors opened, reports say. Three men dived from the car, while the driver, Tate, struggled to keep the car from hitting a telephone pole.
A deputy sheriff arrested the driver before he could leave the car, reports say.
Begeot said the other men were captured 30 to 40 minutes later.
