FARRELL GRANT CDBG funds

Farrell City Council approved an application Monday seeking $393,400 in federal Community Development Block Grants. A breakdown of proposed spending shows:
Code enforcement: $85,000.
Urban renewal: $100,000.
Street improvements: $124,000.
Public services: $7,000 for housing counseling services by the Shenango Valley Urban League; $5,000 for human relations services by the Urban League; $2,400 for the Community Food Warehouse; $2,000 for rodent control; $10,000 for recreation; $2,500 for the Prince of Peace Center; and $500 for the Wheels to Work program.
Administration: $55,000.
