AUSTINTOWN Trustee action

Austintown trustees Monday:
Hired Jeremy Ladd of Austintown as a part-time probationary reserve police officer. Michael J. Kurish, township clerk, swore him in.
Approved installation of five street lights on Old Farm Trail, with 24 homeowners on that street to pay $287 each for installation and $3.40 a year thereafter for operation of the lights.
Learned from Kurish that property owners representing more than half the street-front footage of Herons Circle, Herons Boulevard and Mallard Court have signed petitions favoring street light installation on their streets.
