Robbery, threat, drug arrests in Boardman

BOARDMAN -- Police investigated a robbery and motor vehicle threat and made some drug-related arrests over the weekend. A robbery was reported at the Microtel Inn on Southern Boulevard on Friday. According to police, a man about age 30 came into the business just after 7 p.m. and demanded money. The hotel clerk said the man had what appeared to be a gun tucked under his arm. The robber eventually jumped over the counter and took $648 in cash. No arrests have been made.
A 53-year-old township man told police he was threatened by another driver while trying to make a turn at West Boulevard and Shields Road on Saturday afternoon. The man said he was behind a driver who was using a cellular phone and did not see the light change. The man said when he blew his horn to alert the driver, someone in the car pointed what looked like a gun at him. The man said the pointing gesture was made again a short distance down the road. Police say they have a license plate number and are investigating.
On Saturday night, two township teens were arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police reports say the boys, both 15, were arrested at Indianola Avenue and Market Street shortly before 11 p.m. One boy had a marijuana pipe and rolling papers in his pockets, and the other had a marijuana pipe and a lighter.
