GREENVILLE Republican senator to tour through district

The legislator will reveal his plans at five stops in three counties.
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- State Sen. Robert Robbins will conduct a whistle-stop tour through his district Thursday to announce his plans to seek a fourth term.
Robbins, a Republican, is planning a bus tour across the newly reapportioned 50th district and will make stops in Greenville, Meadville, Titusville, Hermitage and Neshannock Township.
The district now includes all of Mercer and Crawford counties and portions of Lawrence and Butler counties.
Memberships: Robbins is majority caucus secretary in the Senate and is vice chairman of the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee. He is a member of the Senate's Community and Economic Development Committee, Game and Fisheries Committee, Rules and Executive Nominations Committee and Communications and High Technology Committee.
He also serves on the Pennsylvania Hardwood Council and the Local Government Commission.
He is a graduate of Greenville High School and the United States Military Academy at West Point. He also is a decorated Vietnam War veteran.
He and his wife, Cindy, live in Salem Township. Thursday's whistle-stop tour will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Greenville Railroad Museum and will stop at the Crawford County Courthouse in Meadville at 10 a.m. and the Perry Street Train Station in Titusville at 11:45 a.m.
From there, it will stop at the Crane Room Grille in Neshannock Township at 2:30 p.m., and the final stop will be at the Hermitage Municipal Building at 4 p.m.

Robbins is the only Republican to announce entry into the 50th District race, but he will have opposition from the Democratic Party.
