TRUMBULL COUNTY Badger prevails in OT
Warren JFK won and Lordstown lost in non-conference games.
LIBERTY -- The Badger High girls basketball team out-scored Liberty 8-5 in overtime to prevail 46-43 on Thursday in the Trumbull Athletic Conference.
Jenny Place took scoring honors for the Braves (9-10, 5-10 TAC) with 33 points.
Jessica White led the Leopards (7-11, 6-8) with 20 and Farrah Rivello chipped in with 11.
Champion 66, LaBrae 22: CHAMPION -- Brianne Kochunas collected 16 points, four steals and four assists to help Champion beat LaBrae.
Lori Daniels also had 14 points, five steals and five assists, while Elizabeth Wood had 12 points and six rebounds for the Flashes (9-9, 8-6) who played 13 girls in the game.
Natalie Bate scored eight points to lead the Vikings (0-18, 0-14).
Lakeview 58, Brookfield 45: BROOKFIELD -- Laurele Robinson, Megan McBride and Natalie Sudzina each scored 14 points as Lakeview defeated Brookfield. McBride also pulled down eight rebounds for the Bulldogs (7-11, 5-9).
Brookfield (6-12, 4-10) was led by Raquel Brenner with 13 points. Ashley Gramsky grabbed six rebounds.
Warren JFK 54, Bristol 33: BRISTOLVILLE -- Sarah McNeil fired in 17 points to lead Warren JFK past Bristol in a non-conference game.
The Eagles limited the Panthers to three points in the first quarter and four in the second and led 18-7 at halftime.
Melissa Tierney grabbed 10 of JFK's 42 rebounds and McNeil had four steals.
Hathaway Brown 19, Lordstown 12: SHAKER HEIGHTS -- Hathaway Brown led Lordstown 15-8, and that seven-point margin stood up.
The two schools failed to score in the third quarter and each got four points in the final eight minutes of play.
Natalie Bailey and Courtney Pelyak scored four points apiece for the Red Devils. Bailey grabbed five rebounds.
