Victim of robbery leaves the hospital

YOUNGSTOWN -- A 45-year-old Boardman man who was shot at Mill Creek Metroparks has been released from St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Park Police Chief Nate Pinkard said Ed Madej, a music teacher employed by the Youngstown City Schools, was walking on the Artis Trail at about 11 a.m. Wednesday when he encountered another man who demanded money.
When Madej said he carried little cash, the man pulled a gun and shot him.
Pinkard said $20 was stolen from Madej's wallet, but other money was left.
The Artis Trail runs between the Pioneer Pavilion and the Birch Hill cabin in the park's Youngstown section.
