ULowellville High School Principal Gene Jones said he does not collect money during the school's jeans day, as reported Monday. Collection is left up to the day's sponsor, Jones said. He also said all students are welcome to wear jeans each Friday as long as they pay $1.
UDiana Holzer, one of 34 outstanding educators who will be recognized Feb. 13 at the Industrial Information Institute for Education annual meeting, successfully coached Stephanie Sokol, a diversified health occupations student at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, to a first-place finish in the Ohio Skills-USA VICA Medical Assisting competition in Spring 2001 and first in the National Skills USA VICA medical assisting competition in Kansas City. A story Sunday incorrectly said Holzer won both events.
