BATON ROUGE, La. -- No. 2 LSU passed its first big test of the season with an easy win. Aiysha Smith scored 19 points and DeTrina White added 16 for the Tigers. Texas was just the third team with a winning record that LSU has played this season. Heather Schreiber led all scorers with a career-high 20 points for Texas (6-3). LSU (10-0) shot 48 percent from the field in the first half.

TAMPA, Fla. -- Barbara Turner, Maria Conlon and Ann Strother combined for 43 points for Connecticut. The defending national champion Huskies (10-0) have won 49 consecutive games since a 90-75 loss to Notre Dame in the 2001 NCAA Final Four. Turner scored 16 points to lead all scorers. Conlon finished with 14 and Strother had 13. Sarah Lochmann scored 12 points and Jameelah Trimble added 11 for the Bulls (4-6).

DEKALB, Ill. -- Kendra Wecker scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Kansas State. Chelsea Domenico scored 20 points and Megan Mahoney added 13 for Kansas State (11-1), which led 29-28 at the half. Wecker was 11-for-20 from the floor and hit 3 of 6 shots from beyond the arc for Kansas State, which shot 50 percent for the game, compared to 34.4 percent for Northern Illinois.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Gwen Jackson scored 16 points and Tasha Butts had a season-high 13 for Tennessee, now 15-0 against Notre Dame. Tennessee (9-2) held Jacqueline Batteast and Alicia Ratay to a combined 7 points, 23 below their averages. Courtney LaVere finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Notre Dame (7-2). The Irish wanted to avenge a loss to the Lady Vols in March, which knocked Notre Dame out of the tournament while it was trying to defend its national title.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Cisti Greenwalt had 21 points and a career-high 11 rebounds as Texas Tech won its eighth straight game. Jia Perkins added 20 points for Texas Tech (8-1). Tierra Lassiter led Southern Mississippi (6-5) with 12 points. Texas Tech led by three points midway through the first half, but pulled away with an 18-7 run.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Dana Cherry scored 19 points to lead Arkansas to its fifth straight victory. Lakishia Harper added 15 points and India Lewis had 14 for Arkansas (9-1). Leslie Logsdon scored 17 points, Shala Reese 16 and Kristina Covington 14 for Western Kentucky (5-4).

NORMAN, Okla. -- Theresa Schuknecht had 23 points and eight rebounds, and Dionnah Jackson added 20 points to lead Oklahoma.
Maria Villarroel added 13 points for the Sooners (9-3). Kenja White led Southeast Missouri (6-4) with 21 points, and Lori Chase had 14 points and five rebounds.

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Clare Droesch scored 16 points and Kim Mackie added 11 as Boston College beat SMU in the first round of the DoubleTree Classic. Boston College (7-2) won without leading scorer Becky Gottstein, who sprained her left ankle five minutes into the game. Gottstein is doubtful for Sunday's championship game against Tulane. The Eagles led 29-25 at the half after shooting 43 percent (13-of-30) from the field. SMU (5-4) hit just 32 percent (9-of-28) before the break. SMU outrebounded Boston College 42-38. Shanta Ramdhanny had nine rebounds for SMU and Andrea Cossey had eight. Jessalyn Deveny scored 10 points for the Eagles and Brianne Stephenson scored seven points and had seven assists. Mackie and Deveny each had six rebounds. Cossey led SMU with 16 points, and Ramdhanny and Alisa Wright scored 10 each. Ramdhanny also had five assists.
Virginia 78, No. 25 Michigan 64
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Brandi Teamer scored 20 points as Virginia upset Michigan in the State Farm Classic. Teamer shot 9-of-11 from the field and had five rebounds to lead Virginia, which shot 57 percent. LaTonya Blue added 12 points for the Cavaliers (5-4). Tabitha Pool scored 18 points to lead the Wolverines, who shot 43 percent. Niki Reams added 14 points for Michigan (8-2), outscored 52-32 in the paint.
