Marine Corps Sgt. James A. Phillips, son of Patricia A. Boots of Ellwood City, Pa., and Dennis A. Phillips of Meadville, Pa., graduated from the Intermediate Communications Signals Analysis Course while assigned to Naval Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Fla. Phillips is a 1996 graduate of Meadville, Pa., Area High School.

Army Spec. Gary L. Houdyshell Jr. has graduated from the food service specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va. He is the son of Gary L. Houdyshell Sr. of Berlin Center and Alice K. Hippely of New Philadelphia, and is a 1990 graduate of Crestview High School in Columbiana.
