Game Facts: While showing signs of improving early in season, Tigers' defense regressed giving up 28.0 points per game as Clemson split its final 8 games. Freshman QB Charlie Whitehurst (1,291 passing, 9 TDs, 2 ints., 2 TD runs) did show promise in starting final four games. WR Derrick Hamilton (48 catches, 2 TDs, 209 rushing, 9.9 per carry, 2 TD runs) is multiple threat. Red Raiders QB Kliff Kingsbury (led nation with both 4,642 passing, 42 TDs) was superb in victory (34 TDs, 4 ints. in 8 wins), not-so-good in defeat (8 TDs, 8 ints. in 5 losses). RBs Taurean Henderson (733 rushing, 6 TDs, 90 catches, 5 TD catches), Wes Welker (214 rushing, 7.9 per carry, 83 catches, 6 TDs) flourish in Leach's run-and-shoot attack (4th in nation in total offense, 483.1). Weak defense (93rd in nation in total defense, 406.8) was rung up for 220 points in 5 losses.
