XYOUNGSTOWN -- St. Columba Cathedral was the setting Nov. 23 for the noon wedding of Lori Beth Szabados and Gregory Toporcer.
Parents of the couple are Lester and Georgette Szabados, 4466 Fitzgerald Ave., Austintown, and Robert and Mary Toporcer, 2311 Penny Lane, Austintown.
Monsignor Lawrence Fye officiated, and a reception was held at St. Mary Assumption Social Center. After a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple live in Austintown.
The bride wore a diamond-white gown of matte satin designed with an asymmetric, draped, strapless bodice embellished with Swarovski crystals and bugle beads.
Her sisters, Renee Bornemiss and Michelle Szabados, were honor attendants. They wore bordeaux-colored gowns, as did the bridesmaids, Candy Blackann, Amanda Cazin, Alyson Funari, Jolayne Leskanic, Leandra Mikula and Deanna Palmer. Flower girls were Cara Bornemiss, the bride's niece, and Amanda Zocalli, the groom's cousin.
Robert Toporcer Jr. served as best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Adam Chine, Seth Kenney, Richard Marinelli, David Yargo, Anthony Zocalli, John Zocalli and Michael Zocalli.
Mrs. Toporcer, a substitute teacher, graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in merchandising and marketing, where she is pursuing a degree in education.
Her husband holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from YSU and is pursuing a master's in business administration at Kent State University. He is a buyer for Goodrich Landing Gear in Cleveland.
